Captain Planet, Carrollton Elementary STEM teacher Joseph Benefield and students harvest vegetables from the school garden Tuesday to be used for salads. Captain Planet, a 1990s cartoon superhero who fights to protect the Earth, was joined by Captain Planet Foundation and Dole Foods representatives for an appearance Tuesday at Carrollton Elementary School to help promote healthy eating habits as part of Georgia’s Agricultural Awareness Week. Students learned that vegetables can be tasty and that agriculture can be a desirable career.
