Bio

From 2001 – 2017, Paul served as Deputy General Counsel, Litigation and Regulatory Disputes, and led the team
responsible for managing litigation and regulatory disputes for Voya Financial, Inc.® Corporate Special
Investigations also reported to Paul.

 

Prior to joining Voya, Paul was a founding partner of the law firm of Pursley, Howell, Lowery & Meeks, a firm that confined its practice to assisting clients in litigation and alternative dispute resolution.  Before that, he was a partner in the Atlanta office of the national law firm of Kutak Rock & Campbell. He served as a member of Kutak Rock’s Policy Board, the Atlanta office’s Management Committee and was Chairman of the Atlanta office’s Litigation Department for a number of years.

Paul has served as a Master in the Bleckley Inn of the American Inns of Court and on the faculty of the Atlanta
College of Trial Advocacy, which teaches trial skills to lawyers, and Emory University Law School’s National
Institute of Trial Advocacy, a trial program for law students.

Paul obtained his B. A. degree, magna cum laude, from Mercer University in 1972. He received his law
degree in 1975 from Vanderbilt University School of Law where he was Associate Editor of the Vanderbilt
Law Review, Brief Specialist for the Vanderbilt National Moot Court Team and admitted to the Order of the
Coif.
